She is most famous for her role as Missandei from the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie Emmanuel was born on Southend-on-Sea situated in Essex, England to parents from Saint Lucian, English and Dominican descent. Nathalie says that her mother was her initial inspiration to be an actor. On the West End, she was cast as Young Nala at the age of 10-years-old. In 2006, she got her debut on television by appearing in the role of Sasha Valentine in the teen soap opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel played the role from 2006 until 2010 and her storylines featured prostitution as well as heroin addiction. Nathalie appeared on BBC Three's web-sex: What's the Harm?, investigating the online sexual behaviours of teenagers aged 16-24 in the UK. Also in that same year she made her debut film in the thriller Twenty8. Her next role was in the fantasy drama Game of Thrones (2011, HBO) in the role of Missandei Targaryen who is Daenerys' translator. Her role in Game of Thrones was promoted to a regular in the year 2015. In the same year, she portrayed cyber-hacker Ramsey in the action movie Furious 7 (2015) and Harriet in the sci-fi sequel Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015). FHM magazine placed Emmanuel 99th on their list of the 100 Sexiest Females in 2013. In April of 2015 she was featured in InStyle magazine as well as GQ.
